Have you ever tried myfitnesspal.com ?
Its an awesome free site that allows you to keep an online food diary but it tells you exactly how many calories you've consumed. It also calculates how many calories we should have in a day for our various weight loss goals.
You can log your exercise so you can see how much you've burned each day. It has helped me out a lot.
I think it will help you jump start your journey....
